New to PCGB! 996 cable throttle questions...

Hi all
I live in Hong Kong and recently shipped my 996 cable throttle to the UK (owned for 7 years). It was registered in March'98 in Hong Kong so is quite an early one and am keen on finding the actual build date - I apparently can't get a 'birth certificate' for it anymore - anyone any ideas?
Car is silver and I am looking for a light respray to refresh the paint - it is kept in storage (in Essex) for when I come over to the UK so rarely gets used so I'm not looking for a show quality paint job. Does anyone have a ball park figure and any reliable shops to recommend?

I'm in Essex and Dunmow Coachworks will be my first stop for a quote on the '03 996 i'm hoping to get redone.
