has anyone got one for sale ? I'm hoping to refurbish a used BM Cylinder so I can make a quick straight changeover if I can find someone selling the seal kit. [&o]
I'm not sure if the S2 master cyclinder is different as it has ABS but then i guess most of the later cars have ?

Nick I seem to remeber a long time ago on here talk of the Mercedes master cylinder rebuild kits of the same vintage being a perfect match or it could have been clutch master cylinder. I forget I have slept and drank a lot since joining the forum [;)] Have a trawl you might come up trumps.

thanks Rob thats an excellent idea. I suspect there are quite a few parts in that era that were compatable or even the same part.

I'll look tomorrow at the mercs and Audi's and Vdubs of the period and see what I can find .thanks

Mercedes W123 clutch slave cylinder seals are the same although Porsche does do a repair kit for them. Never priced it but maybe worth a look as long as your clutch mastercylinder is not too rotten.

it looks like the late Porsche master cyclinder has 2x sizes in the cylinder ? 23mm & 19mm
It might be worth taking the original rubber seals along to a motor factors and seeing if I can match them up .There can't be too many different 23mm seals.
Carrs at Exeter have the rubber seal between the servo and MC but no seal kits.

You should check the bore on any old or s/h m/c that leaks?

New seals will last two seconds in a worn bore.

You are dealing with 1000`s of psi in a brake system. Its the bore wear that normally lets by the seals.

Cost shouldnt be an issue with a 150mph car and its braking system
