Just taken delivery 4 replacemnt 17" Cup 2 wheel and tyres.

Local garage said they could swap them all for me if I got them all there. (need tyres swapping from existing wheels to new ones)

So 10mins later 4 wheels and tyres in the 964, back seats down two fronts and one rear in the back and the other rear on the front seat.

Knees on the dash but could just get in and drive.

Wouldn't like to go much further then the 15 miles.

Even the garage was shocked.

I remember buying a set of wheels for my 944 at a Porsche autojumble. They were second-hand tele-dials to replace a sad set of cookie-cutters. Several people asked me if I had come in my Porsche and I said yes (as always, it was my only practical car). Lots of heads were shaken in disbelief.

Well, we got them in. It took quite a while and by the time we'd finished there was a big croud of 911 owners looking on in wonder as one wheel after another went into the car (BTW, this was pre-964, when 911s still had good luggage space)!

Oh, and I had a passenger, and we had been away for a few days, so we had luggage, too, and all of the wheel that I bought still had tyres on!

We left with one of the wheels under my passenger's legs and another by my left ear for the thankfully (for her, I was OK) short drive home.
