Founded in 2014 the Sunday Scramble began as a ‘cars and coffee’ get together amidst the early stages of restoration works.
Six years on and the Sunday Scramble is an event of national repute, attracting enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe, offering the opportunity to explore the former RAF Bicester base, the restored wartime buildings and the specialists businesses based here. It truly is an open day and car meet unlike any other.
Starting with some 100 visitors at the first Scramble in 2014, the event has grown significantly with over 6,500 visitors gathering at Bicester Heritage for the ‘season opener’ Scramble, January 2020.
Bicester Heritage has been actively monitoring governmental and WHO advice regarding the development of Coronavirus COVID-19 over the past weeks. With a dramatic shift in the global response, it is clear that COVID-19 will have a profound impact beyond our health and day-to-day activity. As a result, Bicester Heritage has the made decision to postpone the April Scramble, due to be held on the 26th April, to a new date on the 21st June 2020.
It was intended to hold the second edition of the Super Scramble at Bicester Heritage on the 21st June, however this event will now be postponed until 20th June 2021, in order to to hold the rescheduled April Scramble in its place.
The nature of Scramble and Super Scramble events, attracting more than 6,500 enthusiasts of all ages from across the UK and abroad, meaning that the postponement of these ever-popular events is the most appropriate decision to take at this time.
Bicester Heritage is disappointed not to be able to go ahead with the original dates as planned, and appreciates that the rescheduling of both events will be sad news for the many event supporters who had made plans to attend, both enthusiasts and exhibitors alike.
