Le Mans: the Porsche Success Story – Episode 3

Competing with two different vehicles, 1981 was quite the year when it came to Porsche making a mark at Le Mans. The 936/81 Spyder fought spectacularly for overall victory – despite being forced to start without testing – as Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell win almost an hour ahead of the second placed competitor. What's more, Le Mans winner Jürgen Barth joins forces with reigning World Rally Champion, Walter Röhrl, during the very same year to drive the 924 GTP in its first full scale race test, finishing at an impressive seventh overall. Travel back to this iconic year for another episode of Porsche Moments, as Timo Bernhard explores the cars and the people alongside Race Engineer, Norbert Singer, and the legend himself – Walter Röhrl.
