Le Mans: the Porsche Success Story - Episode 4
The 1980s was a golden era for Porsche’s racing teams – and not least for the cars and drivers competing at Le Mans. The 962C was based on the four-time Le Mans-winning 956 but 120mm longer and built around an incredibly light aluminium monocoque frame. With the legendary driver combo of Hans-Joachim Stuck, Derek Bell and Al Holbert at the wheel, the Porsche 962C took overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1986 and 1987.
In the Porsche Moments series, Timo Bernhard tells the stories of the people who helped secure the Porsche legend at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Here he meets the great Porsche engineer, Norbert Singer, and Hans-Joachim Stuck, one of the famed drivers who piloted the 962C to Le Mans glory.
