Boxster 986 S

Porsche GB marked the 70th anniversary of Porsche in 2018, by commissioning twenty special edition restorations of its most iconic models. It was an exercise not only in restoring these cars to ‘better than new’ but also demonstrating that Porsche GB had the in-house capability to restore older Porsche models. Of these cars, ten were 986 Boxster S 3.2 models to celebrate 25 years since the original Boxster concept.They received a bare metal restoration complete with a full engine overhaul. Porsche’s approach was to keep the cars as original as possible whilst adding some bespoke touches such as exclusive paint (with a subtle 70th anniversary graphic), and bespoke seat trimming in original Porsche-branded cloth. Each car also got a commemorative plaque, black wallet containing paint and fabric samples and a certificate. The work that went into these cars vastly exceeded their value.
I purchased the car from Porsche Centre Tewkesbury in Dec2023 where it underwent a comprehensive inspection prior to sale.I was advised the original car mileage was approx. 98,000 miles prior to the complete restoration by Porsche GB. The current mileage is approx. 103,000 miles, so some 5000 miles since. In my care I have added Zunsport radiator grills, Porsche console delete kit, custom gear knob & ceramic coating. Servicing has been carried out by Brookspeed. The car has been kept in professional storage when not driven.
The car is in excellent condition and will have a new MOT. I went on a PCGB visit to the Porsche factory, where Richard Attwood kindly signed the Service book. I also have various 70th Anniversary memorabilia which can accompany the sale. I have certainly enjoyed my ownership of the Boxster S, however its time to reduce my car collection, hence the sale.
Any 986 generation Boxster S is a wonderful driver’s car but one that has had a comprehensive restoration by Porsche bringing it up to 'as new' condition is very rare. .
