I've been a bit of a car nut all my life and spent far too much money on them (or not).
I started on the diesel route in 2008 when my wife and I changed out our 320E petrol Mercedes to a 320 CLS diesel which we kept until 2011. The first thing we noticed was the benefit of the lowdown torque which meant it was not having to work too hard. This in turn gave us the benefit of vastly improved MPG over the last petrol car which at the time was great as we travelled quite a lot by car for holidays and visiting my wife's family in Ireland.
