June news

This month's news from your Taycan Register

Members?
Firstly, the Taycan Register believes there are more Porsche Club GB Taycan owners out there than shown on the Register. A quick request: are you the owner of another Porsche model looking at this section because you also now either own a Taycan, or have one on order? If the answer is yes, please ensure you also register your Taycan in ‘My Garage’ on the Porsche Club GB website so we can keep you informed of future events we are organising.

Your Taycan recovered using Porsche Assist?
Unfortunately the model has suffered from some issues that has seen members needing to use the services of Porsche Assist (recovering the car on a flatbed loader and receiving a courtesy car via Enterprise).

I myself have now had four separate independent failures of my Taycan (30,000 miles) and used this service every time. It’s normally the quickest way to get a fix! It’s only recently that I became aware that if Enterprise didn’t supply me with an electric car I was entitled to up to £200 in fuel expenses! Make sure you keep your fuel receipts and email porsche@theaa.com and request a BEV claim form whilst your car is being recovered. Fill out the form and send it back to receive a cheque for up to £200 to cover fuel expenses!

April meets
It was great to have the opportunity to meet a few Taycan Register members at a couple of events during April. We accompanied Region 9 at Velocity Car Detailers and Dove House Motor Company. We also established that not all Taycans are owned by business people who only purchase the car to take advantage of the tax benefits. Three of the four drivers that I met at Velocity, were retired Porsche enthusiasts with no tax benefit in owning a Taycan.

28 June event
28 June sees the Taycan meet for a tour of Proof House Birmingham and a clay pigeon shoot. Please keep an eye out on socials and sign up!
