March news

This month's news from your Macan Register

A quick reflection
A great turnout of Register members added to the terrific success of the Club’s Christmas at Bicester Heritage on a bitterly cold day. It was good to meet up with many of you whilst I was on marshalling duties trying to sort Macans from Cayennes as they appeared out of the misty gloom. I tell you they are quite difficult to tell apart as they come towards you – or, perhaps, I need to go to Specsavers!

Anyway, despite the cold, it certainly bodes well for future and warmer Club visits to this location. Roll on summer!

FUTURE EVENTS

These popular events continue with trips to Rutland on 19 April, Shropshire on 28 June and Wiltshire on 18 October. My grateful thanks go to Allan and Jackie Gregory, Keith and Olive Barnett, and David and Mandi Morris for organising their respective events.

Please contact me promptly to secure one of the limited places on offer. Further details will follow when plans have been finalised.

With the help of Robert Lane and local (ish) member Mike Plank, plans for this event are in progress with a recce proposed to check out the routes and stopovers. This trip features a visit to Porsche Centre South Lakes, as well as a factory tour at the Pirelli tyre factory in Carlisle. Although all places have been taken, please let me know if you’re interested in being added to the reserve list… because, you never know!

12 August Annual Macan Register BBQ
Although there will be other activities to be announced later in the year, our annual BBQis confirmed for 12 Augustby kind invitation of Nick and Anne West at their home in Long Crendon, near Thame, Oxfordshire. Again, places are limited and issued on a first come, first served basis, so put it in your diary and confirm your place by emailing me ASAP.

Zoom sessions
Our online get-togethers continue, generally, on the third Tuesday of the month with forthcoming dates of 14 March, 18 April and 16 May. Regular attendees automatically receive a link each time but if you would like to join or, indeed, re-join, please let me know and I’ll include your name on the list. Do join us for these evenings of light-hearted banter and chat about all things Macan and general motoring issues. There are no formalities normally but, if you do have items or questions you wish to raise, then a quick email to me up front will enable me to add to whatever agenda I might already have.
