This month's news from your 996 Register

Hi everyone. As I write this it’s mid January on a freezing cold cloudless day. Looking forward to going to Silverstone for the Collecting cars coffee run in early February, followed one week later by our monthly R10 meet which is taking place at the Porsche experience centre Silverstone. I do hope everyone is keeping well and I look forward to meeting up with as many of you as possible at an event in the coming year.

Will Woods very moody photo of his C4

Will Woods
Will sent in a very moody photo of his C4 to be added to the 996 register gallery with the following words:

“Thanks for adding the image Andy. It’s nice to see my car in amongst such fantastic company. The photo was taken in Daresbury, Cheshire and I love how the rock strata is echoed in the monochrome contoursof the car.

"She’s a real beauty and I love that Porsche driving experience. Its Polar Silver with an immaculate interior of Metropole Blue with ‘ruffled‘ leather seats.

"I’m intending to do some very tasteful mods, a bit of subtle lightening, whilst also going for the classic look. I love a long-term project! Thanks for organising the  RAF Cosford 996 Anniversary it was great.  I really enjoyed attending and meeting many 996 owners.

"All the best Will.”

“I own a 996 C4 2003 manual cabriolet and have just completed a trip to the France Champagne Houses and a Reims historic circuit with R19.

Alan Neal’s 996 C4 2003 manual cabriolet

“I’ve recently purchased a 1978 SC coupé - we are so lucky. I sold my 993 three years ago, prior to that I owned a 996 turbo for nine years before a 993 turbo belonging to Silverstone’s Technical Director and, prior to that, a 993 cabriolet, which was stolen from my house when I was on holiday. I could go on… I’ve owned Porsches for the past 40 years. Which has been the best? Why, of course, the 993 turbo followed by the 996 turbo. Thanks for your reports, keep up the good work.”

Tom’s McCrea’s large rear ended C4S

Tom McCrea
“I joined R27 last month. I have a 2003 C4S which I bought from Pondover Motors near Heathrow in January 2022 with 98k on the clock.

"It needed a little TLC. So far I’ve replaced the gas struts at bonnet and have a front splitter waiting to go on. I also had to put a relevant registration on it. I plan to get some bodywork done as it is a little scruffy. So far I have found the club a great place - great people with good advice and support. all with a common interest. No doubt I'll be annoying you with stupid questions at some point so thanks in advance!”
