Leonard Collection
This was a collection of 38 vehicles, including 21 Porsches, that was sold through online auction site Collecting Cars with a promotional video by Chris Harris from Top Gear. The common thread amongst the cars seemed to be a very low mileage, with the most extreme example being a 1991 964 Carrera RS with 164 km on the clock! There were two impact bumper cars amongst the lots, a 1988 Carrera 3.2 Clubsport with 10,326 km and a 1974 Carrera 2.7 with 15,130 km. The 1974 Carrera was a Japanese delivery in Grand Prix White, which came to Europe sometime in the 2010s - in 2015 it was in Austria and arrived in the UK about 2018. The mileage was described as ‘believed to be genuine’ although there was no mileage record until it had a service at Ecurie Vienne in May 2015, when it showed 14,852 km. All lots were sold without reserve, the Clubsport made £220k and the Carrera 2.7 £190k. In each case a buyers’ premium of £6000 was additionally payable.
