Trackday at Curborough Sprint Course

Trackday at Curborough Sprint Course

Graham Godfrey reports: About two dozen Porsches (and one Audi) gathered at Curborough, near Lichfield, on 6 June. After breakfast, we walked the course, receiving advice about what and what not to do, with a focus on safe driving, correct lines and not setting records.

With trackday novices among us, many people took Dave West or another of our experts on their runs. Even those with some experience received useful tips and the guys hugely contributed to helping us tackle a sprint course and to our enjoyment.

Another track walk followed lunch before the ‘figure of eight’ configuration presented new challenges. Everyone was a little more confident, particularly a number of partners driving their family Porsche. Again, there was lots of advice and a good balance between serious driving and relaxed conversation between the runs.

It was a great day at a great venue, with a chance for a number of members to take their cars off the leash and leave as better drivers. Everyone’s thought on leaving was “When’s the next one?”
