Neil Thomas Sunday drive and buffet

Porsche R14 Area - Pembrokeshire Run, 13th May 2018

The Pembrokeshire Run has been organised by R14 members, Neil and Sharon Thomas, from Tenby. It is 62 miles long through beautiful coastal countryside and finishes at a privately owned country estate called Cresselly House. Tulip diagrams of the route will be handed out morning of the run.
The event will start from the Forge Lodge and Restaurant on the west bound carriageway of the A40, approximately 1 mile Carmarthen side of St Clears. Next to the Forge, is a Shell garage selling ‘V’ Power fuel. The website address for the Forge is: (http://www.theforgelodge.co.uk/home.html)
There is accommodation at the Forge should anyone wish to stay the night before. You will have to make your own arrangements for this however.
On the day of the Run, it is important that all cars are away from the Forge by 10am on. This will then allow sufficient time to complete the route and reach the final destination of Cresselly House, Cresselly for 1.30pm. It is also important not to arrive at Cresselly House before 1.30pm as the owner, Hugh Harrison-Allen, will be giving tours to members of the public that morning. The public will have left by 1.15pm.
Hugh will give tours of the House to our group upon our arrival and before food is served. The tour is highly recommended and costs £4 per person.
Food, in the form of a finger buffet, is being prepared by Hugh’s partner, Roz. She is a very good caterer. There will be a small charge of £10 for this.
The website for Cresselly House is: http://www.cresselly.com
The Forge Lodge will be open on the Sunday morning from 7.30am for breakfasts and you are encouraged to support them. They have been very kind in allowing us to use their facilities as a starting venue.
There is a very nice tea/coffee/cake stop on route at Stackpole Walled garden run as a charity for MENCAP. Its location will be evident in the directions. This venue has been made aware of our visit (https://www.stackpole-walledgardens.co.uk)
Some of the roads used will be narrow, with passing places, so please take care whilst you negotiate them. There are also some sections which are patrolled by Speed Cameras vans and motorbikes. They will have a speed camera signs on display, so please be aware. They show no mercy in Pembrokeshire!
