The Club night in August, as recent tradition prevails, has been a scenic drive out to an interesting Dining venue. This year we have discovered the Lord Haldon Hotel, Dunchideock, Devon. Overlooking the Exe Valley west of the City of Exeter on the side of Haldon Forest and a stone’s throw from the celebrated Haldon Belvedere landmark, the spacious hotel has beautiful gardens and potentially stunning views on a good summer evening. When we ate there in May we really enjoyed the interesting menu which was carefully cooked and beautifully presented. A real surprise.
We will meet at Exeter Services at 1830 and then depart for around an hour's drive through the lovely Devon countryside to our meal venue - an hotel in a very pretty, scenic location with a huge parking area! On offer will be 2 or 3 course meal with 3 choices per course. £25 (2 course) or £30 per head before drinks.
