This event is limited to 25 cars
Portsmouth to Caen overnight ferry on Thursday night arriving at Caen Friday morning. Or Poole to Cherbourg Friday morning. Drive down to Mayenne Friday morning ( route will be provided) approx 2hrs where the convoy will be met by Paul our event organiser, who will take you to your hotel, Best Hotel Mayenne, which has a good restaurant on site. www.besthotel.fr/mayenne
Saturday after breakfast drive up to the Chateau de la Basmaignee for brunch, photos and a look around (it’s in a lot better condition than on the television programme, Escape to the Chateau, shown on Channel 4 recently)
Then back to your hotel. In the evening we are invited to Paul and Jo's house for BBQ and liquid necessaries.
Sunday after breakfast convoy to car show and enjoy French automobile history.
We would like numbers before Paul returns back to France in October 2018. Approximately 20 cars have declared interest to book already so it should fill quickly.
10 Euro CASH deposit to Paul for Chateau is now required. (NOT 40e as previously posted)
Hotel to be booked by telephone (english speaking) mention Paul Butcher Porsche Club.
Car ferry will be on Paul's discount rate..Discount Code will be provided to confirmed booked members soon after Christmas.
Current Proposed Itinerary From Paul
Best crossing ----- Brittany Ferries Poole ---Cherbourg
Leaving at 0830 (be at docks for check in by 0730)
Arrive at Cherbourg at approx 1400 local time
Motor in convoy south to be met by me 20kms north of Domfront (route to be supplied )
Taken to the hotel book in and have evening meal
Saturday morning I will meet convoy and motor up to the Chateau for tour and brunch
Saturday afternoon drive and park in Domfront (medieval city)
Saturday evening drive to my house for BBC
Sunday I will meet you all at the hotel and drive to the car show where a lunch of sausisson and frites and then back to hotel
