Bo’Ness Revival and hill climb
A great turnout saw the PCGB and TIPEC combined stand display a lovely variety of Porsches, from the classic to the modern day and everything in between. PCGB members were treated to tea, coffee and breakfast rolls on arrival, then spent the day inspecting the vast displays of cars or enjoying the hill climb. The Club’s 356 also joined several other classics on the Jim Clark Stand.
RNLI 911 Challenge
We met James and Belinda Richardson at Queensferry Lifeboat Station during their challenge of visiting all 77RNLI stations in Scotland in 19 days. They completed a similar UK challenge last year with funds raised going to the RNLI. After a photo shoot on the pier, we went for fish and chips. The challenge has been successfully completed so congratulations to James and Belinda.
Breakfast run
Tony Foster reports: The freedom of the open road holds a magnetic appeal for us Scots. After leaving the Dakota Hotel Eurocentral and travelling through some small towns, the road opened up and away we went. We had a fantastic collection of Porsches, from a bright yellow GT3 to a 1964 356C.
This road was quiet on a Sunday morning, which allowed us to really move, enjoying the true reason we invest in our Porsches. Arriving in Moffat, we arranged the collection of cars around the centre courtyard of Moffat House Hotel, where we sat down to a beautiful breakfast accompanied by good conversation: great cars, great people, great Club.
A hard day’s drive
Ian Rankin reports: We had 19 cars and 28 members from across the Region heading through The Lowthers and Wanlockhead (the highest village in Scotland) to Drumlanrig Castle. After nourishment and a stunning photo shoot we moved on to Moffat and some of the best driving roads in the south of the Region. Having stopped off at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel for lunch and a refuel, some of us went further, past St Mary’s Loch to Selkirk and Abbotsford, home of Sir Walter Scott. And that was enough – a hard day’s drive!
