Club 356 visit to Aberdeen

On the last Saturday in September, R2 members had the chance to drive the Club's classic 356

With the assistance of Aberdeen Porsche Centre we were recently able to bring the Club's iconic classic 1960 Porsche 356B - the "Robin Hood Car" - to Aberdeen for a visit.

During its stay I organised a day of driving sessions so that members could experience the thrill of driving this lovely machine. In the 30 minute slots we covered a circuit of just over 5 miles close to the Porsche Centre, making a stop at a car park on the coast road for "selfies" to ensure the drivers all had a memento of their experience.

Thanks to Paul Barlow for the pictures (More and bigger versions can be found on Paul's website, www.barlow.org.uk), to Mike Raeburn for taking over the passenger seat over lunchtime so I could get a sandwich, to Pauline Dow for checking in the drivers and attending to the important paperwork, and once again to Sam Patterson and Aberdeen Porsche Centre for help with transporting, storing and displaying the car.
