R2 Drive it Day 2023

We're delighted that it's finally spring again and time for National Drive it Day, on Sunday 23 April!

National Drive it Day celebrates the closest weekend to the date of the inaugural London-Edinburgh-London reliability trial held in 1900, when cars of the era attempted the 1000 mile round trip.
More recently, this date marks the start of the driving season for clubs across the nation, and you'll see cars of all ages and flavours out and about on the roads on this day.

Our own day out will begin at the Glenshee Ski Centre for coffees, meeting from 11:00am for an 11:30am sharp departure.

You can view the route on a map - Click Here

Heading south, we'll make for Kirkmichael and over the Moulin Moor to Pitlochry. From there, we'll join the A9 south for a short while till we get to the Dunkeld Junction, where we'll head west to Amulree and then south through the Sma' Glen to Gilmerton.

We'll nip through Crieff and up to our destination, the Glen Turret Distillery, for a bite to eat and the option of a tour. Glen Turret is the oldest working distillery in Scotland, and still maintains some old traditions such as hand stirring the wash backs with wooden paddles.

Recently freed from the shackles of The Famous Grouse, the Glen Turret has been re-released with a fantastic range of single malts available, and a brand new visitor centre and restaurant.

The price is £15pp for Soup, a Sandwich, choice of Hot or Cold Drink and a Traybake. We have reserved the 3:30pm tour for club members, which is booked seperately. Tour details will be provided once you have booked on to this event.

This event is limited to 30 spaces due to constrictions at the distillery.
