POSTPONED R2 On Tour - North Wales

UPDATE - This event has been postponed, probably until 2021. Keep an eye on R2 events for a replacement weekend away.

It's been a while since R2 left Scotland - and why would we?! We've got beautiful scenery and some of the best driving roads in Britain... But every now and then, it's nice to see what other regions in the club get up to, and where they go to play.

Join a small group of Region 2 members on Thursday 28th -  Sunday 31st May as we travel to Deganwy, Conwy in North Wales, for a very special long weekend.

Expect spectacular scenery, great food and, of course, excellent roads! Our suggestions include the Evo Triangle, Snowdonia 360 trail and the Black Mountain Pass. With optional group drives, we can come and go as we please. Snowdonia National Park is a vast, rugged area with waterfalls and trails, including routes up Mount Snowdon. Medieval Conwy Castle has 8 huge towers, plus battlements with sea views. It’s near the resort town of Llandudno, with North Shore Beach. Other castles include 19th-century Penrhyn Castle, with Gothic stairways, and waterside Caernarfon Castle. So whether you want to explore historic seaside towns, or venture up the mountain railway, North Wales has something for everyone!

The hotel: We have booked 10 double rooms at the Quay Hotel and Spa. Set on the idyllic Conwy Estuary, the 4 star Quay Hotel and Spa commands awe-inspiring views of the most magical scenery in North Wales and is located within easy reach of Snowdonia National Park, the neighbouring medieval town of Conwy and Victorian Llandudno. With reserved parking along the estuary wall, and bar/lounge views of Conwy Castle, this is sure to be a spectacular stay.

This cost of this trip includes: accommodation for 3 nights (with secure, reserved parking), dinner on Thursday night and lunch on Saturday, a suggested itinerary, maps, guides and a rally plate.  (see below for prices).

The suggested itinarary is as follows:

Thursday - Travel from Scotland to North Wales. We will set up a Whatsapp group chat for you and your fellow travellers. Make plans to travel in convoy, or make your own way down the country. When you arrive at the hotel, there will be a reservation at the hotel restaurant for dinner, giving you time to relax and unwind after the journey.

Friday - Exploration Day. Follow the suggested itinerary, or go your own way, just make sure you get out and explore Wales! North Wales PCGB members may even come out to play with their Porsches, ready to show us all the best routes! There are no set dinner plans, but in true R2 fashion we plan to retire to the bar for a catch up.

Saturday - Take the morning to yourself, take a relaxing stroll around Conwy, or jump back in the car to explore even more sights! Meet us back at the hotel for a late lunch and an exciting surprise! Again, there are not set plans for dinner, but the end of day catch up at the bar is mandatory!

Sunday - Sadly, it's time to go home. Similarly to Thursday, you can choose to leave in a group, or set off in your own time.

If you're still reading, you're clearly interested. So let's talk numbers..."How much is it going to cost me?!" we hear you cry!
