New Year Dinner

Region 5's Annual New Year Dinner at a new venue of the Pinewood Hotel was enjoyed by over 50 members some of whom were happy to dance the night away with the new addition this year of a disco.

The Region 5 annual dinner event this year was held at a new venue in the Tatton Suite at the Pinewood Hotel, Handforth. The festivities started with a pre-dinner gathering in the bar, then an excellent three-course dinner was served up, followed by coffee and Mince pies, and Dave was on hand to provide the background music and disco for those who wanted to dance away their meal.

Lots of compliments were given on the new venue, the service, and the meal, and we are confident that no-one went home hungry – some even stayed overnight to enjoy even more of the hotel’s hospitality.

Overall, the evening was a lively affair, with plenty of chatter and a buzz in the air all evening. A memorable moment was shared by everyone when the Trophy for the “Member of the Year”, which earlier had been surgically removed from Debbie, Vivian and Trevor Roberts, was presented to Nette Graham, who does a great job behind the scenes and organises two significant events for the Region – Porschemeirion and the annual meeting in November at Porsche Centre Wilmslow. Also, there was an auction of a huge Porsche evolution wall poster and a raffle prize draw, which raised a grand total of two hundred and ninety pounds for charity.

All-in-all a memorable occasion; the evening was all about enjoying the good company of fellow members and the party atmosphere, and the measure of success was the number of people who stayed on after the main festivities, so a sincere thank you to everyone who came along to support another successful event.
