Sunday Run to the Peak District

The last Sunday Run for 2019 over familiar Peak District Roads and to the Swettenham Arms for one of their marvelous lunches.

Forty members and guests met in the damp on Sunday morning to complete the run over the hills beyond Congleton and return for a lunch at the Swettenham Arms. Whilst it was grey, with wet roads, the rain held off for us mostly and the beauty of the area was not lost completely. Most of the roads are speed restricted too, but remain challenging and good driving roads for our cars. We took care, plenty of leaves on the road to catch the unwary!  It was a 'wet Sunday', so there were not many other cars on the road to hold us up. The route was a tad over 60 miles, so the pub was a welcome site as always.
Again, as always, the noise around the dining room was up to the normal R5 standard, and the tucker provided was excellent. No need for supper that day!
The place was packed, not a spare seat anywhere, always a good sign.
This run is the last of the Sunday runs for the year, winter approaches. Let's look forward to getting together in 2020 and do it all again.
