Following a kind invitation from Aston Martin, based in Wilmslow, a day of opportunities was arranged for eighteen Members to experience driving the new Aston Martin Vantage. The event was centred at Nunsmere Hall Hotel near Tarporley, where we were treated to endless tea and coffee, fruit, and Danish pastries, as well as bacon butties for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch.
The three cars provided, with their four-litre V8 engines, went out at hourly intervals and covered a mixture of Cheshire roads. Fortunately, the weather was kind, but the roads were a little damp, resulting in a few twitchy moments, particularly when the customary tractors were encountered, but the conditions didn’t detract from the overall driving pleasure, especially when hearing the melodic notes from the exhausts.
