Llandudno Weekend

A long weekend based in Llandudno started on Friday afternoon, followed by a visit to Anglesey Circuit for the trackday on Saturday and Porsches on the Promenade on Sunday.

A number of Region 5’s members once again made the the relatively short annual pilgrimage to North Wales for an excellent Porsche Club GB weekend of cars, driving and socialising.

Some of us started our long weekend by avoiding the motorways and headed to Ruthin Castle Hotel via the A and B roads as a rendezvous point for lunch, which made a lovely backdrop for our cars, although it was a shame that the service at the hotel wasn’t as quick as our cars... Fully refreshed, we enjoyed a spirited drive to the St George’s Hotel in Llandudno where a good number of club members met for dinner.

On Saturday morning some of us headed over to Ty Croes for the PCGB track day, where those of us who had not booked onto the track day enjoyed watching those that did and regretted not joining in (note for next year book early). Another dinner followed on the Saturday evening and as a result some of us weren’t quite as spritely on the Sunday morning. After a wet and grey start the weather soon improved and the sight of more than 900 Porsche’s on the Llandudno Promenade was a sight to behold. There was everything there from early 356’s right up to some new 992’s, there really was something there for everyone and it was lovely wandering along the Promenade enjoying the cars and the company of like minded people. If you haven’t made it to this weekend before, put it in your diary for next year, you won’t be disappointed.
