23 June 2019

Lymm Historic Transport Day

This year will be the 7th Lymm Historic Transport Day, run as a part of Lymm Festival, on June 23rd. The event will be widely promoted and advertised to Lymm and surrounding districts using local press, Facebook, twitter, flyers, posters and banners. Whilst no guarantees can be given on attendee numbers, in recent years this has been 6,000 - 8,000.

There will be a food court and a trade stalls on the The May Queen Field. This will be open for vehicle exhibitors from 8am and the main event is open from 11am until 5pm.

The ‘Drive in’ parade through the village starts at 10:30am. Please note that this has been extremely popular, those allocated a place in the parade will be notified separately and given full details.

Please encourage your members bring with them essential supplies for the day such as sun cream, hat, water, waterproof etc to cover for the variety of weather that we’ve come to know and love in the UK. Fingers crossed for a repeat of last year’s Amazing weather!

This year we are encouraging as many exhibitors as possible to Dress the Part to give an even more Historic feel to the event, there will be Prizes for the Best Dressed. We also have a large British military theme this year with a Militaria Display and a Dakota C-47 flypast, this particular aircraft was involved in operations on the eve of D-Day, 75 Years ago to the month, on the 5thJune 1944.

Many Club exhibitors are returning from previous years and have kindly expressed how great the event is. We are hoping to better earlier years and wish all Club exhibitors previous and new a fantastic day. Please let me know if you or your members have any questions beforehand or on the day and we’ll do our best to assist you.
