The opening round of the 2019/20 World Endurance Championship season at Silverstone

WEC Silverstone 30^th August - 1^st September 2019

It’s been a few years since a large group of R3 members attended the World Endurance Championship at Silverstone and this year there was a noticeable drop in the number of spectators at the track, presumably since Porsche no longer run in the LMP1 class. Porsche still performed, and the GT Team took 1^st and 2^nd in the LM GTE Pro Class.
The weekend also included rounds 11 and 12 of the Porsche Carrera Cup. Championship leader Dan Harper added another 15 points to the pot with a first on Saturday. Sunday’s race had us on the edge of our seats, with young Dan starting in 4^th, he made his way to 3^rd on the first lap, before a coming together with Lewis Plato, dropping him to 11^th. By lap 5 he had made his way back to 4^th, before a second coming together with Lewis Plato spun him out again, moving him to 9^th. By the final lap he’d made his way once more to 4^th.
