Our annual trip south for the Silverstone Classic; The world's largest classic motor racing festival
Silverstone Classic July 20th- 22nd July 2018
Almost thirty members headed south for this national event, travelling between 200 and 300 miles to get there. We certainly are a well-travelled region! Whether enjoying a coffee in the Club marquee, watching the racing in the exclusive Club grandstand, visiting the Porsche Experience Centre, or any of the race paddocks and garages or trade stands there’s always a familiar face to be found. It was nice to see some of our newest members there too, enjoying some of the benefits of Club membership. As is often the case, the rain began just as the bands were due on stage on Friday evening, so not everyone stayed to enjoy the live music. Several of our cars were booked onto the Retrorun this year, an organised drive which this year took us to the Classic Motor Hub where we enjoyed lunch surrounded by some fabulous vehicles, followed the next day by a track parade.
