Porkers in the Trough VII July 2017 Gallery

Lancashire & Cumbria Region’s annual drive through the Trough of Bowland.

Porkers in the Trough VII 9th July 2017

In recent years we’ve made a weekend of Porkers in the Trough. We gathered at Tow Law for the drive to Preston, using the scenic moorland roads down to Hawes for lunch at the Wensleydale Creamery, then on for our overnight stay at the Preston Marriott, where the hotel had arranged private dining for us. The following morning we pulled into Garstang Country Hotel and Golf Club, en masse, for the start of a fun filled day, enjoying the roads of Lancashire and the hospitality of Region 18. After lunch & a tour of Lytham Hall several of us decided on a detour along Blackpool Prom before heading back to Garstang for the awards. A bit ironic that someone who owns a tyre company was the only one to pick up a bolt in his tyre. The planned drive home over Hartside was scrapped for a more direct, sedate route home via the M6 & A69 with regular visual checks on the tyre. Who needs modern TPMS when you have fellow PCGB members alongside you? PCGB camaraderie at it’s best!
