Porkers in the trough VII

This year we had seven R3 cars joining Lancashire & Cumbria for their now annual Porkers in the Trough run. We decided to make a weekend of it and set off on the Saturday for a wonderful run over the moors to Preston, stopping off in Hawes for lunch at the Wensleydale Cheese Factory. We stayed at the Preston Marriott where we were well looked after, with a private dining room for our evening meal. On the Sunday morning we were greeted at Garstang with the usual Region 18 warm welcome and after receiving our route instructions set off on the run.

For most it was their first drive through the Trough of Bowland and they weren’t disappointed. No-one got lost and despite our group getting broken up by a group of Morgans, also out enjoying a run through the Trough, we arrived at our lunch stop together. We were all a bit surprised to find Astley Hall and it’s surrounding parkland within the busy Chorley town centre and spent time wandering around the hall, grounds and of course the wonderful array of Porsches parked there. Back at Garstang we stayed for the quiz answers and prize giving before battling the M6 traffic on our way home.

Porkers in the Trough VII gallery contains 27 images and is part of the PCGB North East region activities from September 2016
