PCGB Awards Dinner & National Concours d’Elegance 21st-22nd September 2018
Congratulations R3! We have been awarded the Sheffield Trophy for Region of the Year at this years awards dinner.
Several R3 members attended the Porsche Club GB black tie dinner and awards evening. Enjoying a relaxing evening presented by Louise Goodman, listening to legendary Porsche driver Derek Bell regaling us all with tales of his career, we were thrilled to receive the award on behalf of our region.
“Deb & I would like to say thank you to all our members who have helped this Region to really make its mark in PCGB history and you should all be immensely proud of this achievement. This is a fantastic award to win, especially in the 70th anniversary year of Porsche Cars. I would especially like to thank the large numbers of key members, past and present, who have regularly gone above and beyond for the good of others and this Region. I feel it is only fair to point out that your efforts have also undoubtedly gone a long way to R3 winning this award and put this success down to a huge team effort. Without your continued help & support, Deb and I would simply find ourselves in an empty room at Club nights with no one interested or listening as we try to promote events or the benefits of being part of this fantastic Club. I personally feel that what continues to make this Region successful and interesting, is the wonderful people in it. Our cars are great, but without some of you even recognising it, you are by far the best asset this Region has; you share your experiences, form friendships, promote our Club and are not just the drive behind motivating others to take part in events but actually the real reason many choose to do so.
This award has been a long time coming and I would also like to thank and acknowledge the great work of our previous Regional Organisers who over the years have helped shape and build this Region into what it is today.

Needless to say, there were some fuzzy heads the next morning for the National Concours d’Elegance at Ragley Hall near Stratford-upon- Avon. This year we had no entrants in the Concours d’Elegance but you may recognise members’ cars from our from our own visitors concours at Witton Castle.
