A late season drive to Kielder.

Kielder Autumn Run 29th October 2017

Following the success of our recent coastal drive up we put out word of a late season run to Kielder. Initially responses were from Boxster drivers, so it was beginning to lok like a Boxster Register run but on the day seven Boxsters were joined by three 911s at Hexham Services (and a Fiat Abarth, as a 944 had developed an undiagnosed knock). We drove to Kielder village, enjoying the changing colours of the countryside in the autumn sun. Despite the temperatures being in single figures, all but one car had the roof down all the way – even the one coupe in the group had the sunroof open. We’re tough up north! After Sunday lunch at the Anglers Arms, we decided on a longer route home, heading over the border into Scotland to Bonchester Bridge and home again via the A68, with a quick (and chilly) stop for photos at Carter Bar (The England/Scotland border point for those non-locals). A warming coffee and cake at Otterburn gave us a chance to say our goodbyes before going our separate ways home.
