A weekend trip to Birmingham’s NEC to admire thousands of classic vehicles
Classic Motor Show 8th – 10th November 2019
A group of us travelled down to Birmingham on the Friday, giving us a chance to enjoy a meal together that evening, allowing us a full day to enjoy the Classic Show on the Saturday. Staying in Knowle, it only took us ten minutes to get to the NEC on the Saturday morning, where we spent all day browsing the seven halls, filled with classic and vintage vehicles, trade stands, auction and live action. There’s a lot of walking involved in a day at the NEC so the Porsche Club GB stand provides a welcome sit down with complimentary barista coffee. Whilst twelve of us had decided to make a weekend of it, we bumped into just as many, if not more, R3 members who had driven down for the day. “Always happy to travel” seems to be an R3 motto!
To round off a busy day, we enjoyed a curry night. The next morning, we paid our respects at Knowle’s Remembrance Day parade, before heading home.
