A wet drive through the lights on Blackpool Promenade

Blackpool Illuminations 13th October 2018

When Philip and Jacqui Sayers suggested a drive over to visit Blackpool Illuminations the take up was slow. Maybe some of our members have crystal balls and knew that Storm Callum was on the way! Undeterred, we battled the weather over the A66, knowing that old friends Mac and Sue, from Region 18, had promised us a home cooked supper. The wind and rain hampered all attempts at decent photos of the weekend; the lights were still impressive, but on this occasion were outshone by the food and the company. The following day, we stopped off for lunch at the Wensleydale Creamery, allowing us a drive home over Buttertubs Pass and The Stang, great roads whatever the weather.
