On a lovely Sunday morning 14 Porsches and their owners met at The Pigs pub in Edgefield for coffee and a chat before setting off to Stody Gardens where our cars were part of the Classic Car display.
Having lined up our cars, deckchairs were the order of the day to sit in the sunshine enjoying our picnics and watch the other cars arriving. There were a vast array of vehicles on display ranging from 2 Stanley Steamers from the 1910s to modern Aston Martins, via a 1920s Rolls Royce 20HP saloon, a display by the Mercedes Benz car club, lots of Ford Anglia’s, Capris, Jaguars,Triumph sports cars, various MGs, VWs including a hot rod Karmann Ghia, Ferraris, a few Lotus Elans and even a BL1800 Land Crab in immaculate condition!
The gardens were beautiful with a variety of azaleas and rhododendrons and despite the long queue for teas and ice creams a pleasant and relaxed afternoon was enjoyed by all.
