May Zoom meeting
On 11May, Barry Gale, a member since 1982 gave us a presentation on the restoration of his 1969 911T Coupe that he has owned since 1984. Barry bought the car as a non-runner and it had been stored in one garage for 21 years. In February 2020, Barry stripped the car for restoration, where the work on the bare shell was conducted by Design 911. In fact, the car was stripped right down to its roof rails. By October 2020, the grey body shell was ready to be painted in fantastic Irish Green. The car has matching numbers, engine/chassis/gearbox, and will be fitted with many restored original parts. The seats were painted black but have been re-‘Connolised’ in the original tan colour. The engine and gearbox have been rebuilt, and Barry is pleased to have the original build sheet (Kardex) for his car.
