Visit to Lux Classics

Lux Classics sells and restores high-end cars from the 50's through to the current day from its base in Great Leighs. R11 was invited for a visit.

Thirty-eight members attended a meeting at Lux Classics at the end of October.

Although Lux Classics was not formed until 2011, Parry had started in car restoration and sales about 2000, when he took on projects and consultancy for other classic car restorers.  Now Lux Classics sell classic and modern super cars and have a restoration and service department with modern and classic car detailing.

The family business goes back to 1960 and in the 1980’s a Mercedes restoration shop was opened in Los Angeles and a Triumph Stag specialist parts and restoration facility was opened in south west London.

During our visit we saw a famous male model’s 1961 90SL that had been restored and his 356C was being restored and rebuilt and had been painted in a special colour to the owner’s wishes.  Lux Classics take on a maximum of four restoration projects at any one time to ensure each project is managed appropriately. See www.luxclassics.com.

We thank Parry and Rosarie for their kind hospitality during our visit and we hope that a detailing workshop visit will be arranged for next year.
