Shuttleworth Collection Gallery

On the 11th October R11 made a midweek visit to the Shuttleworth Collection at the Old Warden airfield, Biggleswade. Reserved parking for the 12 cars was provided in front of the main hangars and the 22 attendees enjoyed excellent bacon rolls and coffee at the Runway Cafe before setting off on the guided tour. The Collection has a huge range of aircraft from the days of pioneering flying at the beginning of the 20th century up to WWII. The superb guides provided an excellent insight to the evolution of aircraft over some 30 years. After the two hour tour it was back to the Runway Cafe for lunch. There were the Swiss Gardens, workshops and historic vehicles to explore in the afternoon. And we all got free entry tickets for a return visit within 30 days
