February news

This month's news from your Milton Keynes & Northamptonshire Region

On a positive note
We are certainly all looking forward to taking part in and getting rolling some long-awaited, postponed events from 2020, with many new ones for this, the PCGB 60th Anniversary year. After the well-attended R10 Zoom meet at the end of 2020, we enjoyed each other’s company briefly and caught up on a few thoughts and intentions for reviving some Regional events, together with those for further afield, especially for driving our cars.

Intended visits from last year, including a welcome WOTY (‘Weekend Of The Year’) to Northumberland (projected for May) and an exciting trip to Angoulême (September), together with more local Export 56 and Valluga events, may still be on the cards by the time you read this, subject to us having the freedom to travel more extensively in UK and Europe, of course. Silverstone Classic has been confirmed for 30 July to 1 August, so that’s another one to look forward to amongst others, which are beginning to resurface. We hope our own R10 Rally will take place on 27 June.

However, on writing this report just at the end of 2020, a re-emergence of the virus in a mutated form has prompted tighter lockdown-type restrictions from the government, which is very disappointing for us all in the South East of England and bordering regions. The phrase ‘just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water’ has never seemed so poignant. This, combined with the frankly farcical never resolving Brexit situation, seem destined to balk most of our ‘normal’ movements, let alone those of our great Club.

Enjoy your Porsche and Keep The Faith!

So we will again be putting on a brave face and making what plans we can to once again enjoy each other’s company and Porsches, face-to-face. As ever, I will be making the most of driving my lovely 993 and trust you will drive your treasured Porsches on whatever opportunity presents itself. Thanks to you all for your perseverance - keep the faith and we will meet properly again as soon as we can!

As always, if you’d like to talk Porsche or need any impartial advice on our cars, please contact me.

See you all soon
