‘Craic on the Causeway’ with R27

A jam-packed weekend of celebrations in Northern Ireland

Thank you to everyone who joined us for some good craic at last weekend’s Festival of Northern Ireland. The four-day festival begun with a full day of driving in the picturesque and internationally renowned Antrim Coast Road area before taking a visit to Northern Ireland’s prized World Heritage site, Giants Causeway.

A dreary, dark, and damp Friday saw members take to the track in the latest PCGB trackday at Kirkistown Circuit. Kirkistown is the only club-owned and operated circuit in the British Isles. A new Clubhouse, pit garages, a scrutineering bay and a new dedicated room for marshals was the backdrop of a rain-soaked track which did not put members off as they enjoyed the 1.53-mile circuit in their prized Porsches.

The next stop on the agenda was to spend the day in the grounds of Hillsborough Castle. Despite the overcast skies it didn’t stop members coming out in force to explore Northern Irelands only royal residence.  With over 100 acres of ornamental lawns, meandering waterways, peaceful woodlands and picturesque glens, the castle provided the perfect backdrop for a stunning selection of Porsches.

As midday approached, we were treated by an unexpected fly past by The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows on their way to the Duxford Summer Airshow. The perfect way to start the afternoon off in style as the sun finally made its appearance before ending the day with a speech from Director and Regional organiser, Ken Mack, who announced the winners to the competitions:
