Book Launch - Ultimate Works Porsche 962

Club members are invited to attend an exclusive book launch at The Classic

The 40th anniversary of Group C Racing will take centre stage on the Saturday afternoon at The Classic, with many of the most celebrated sportscars taking to the Grand Prix circuit for a demonstration run at 4.50pm.

Following this, Club members are invited to attend an exclusive book launch of “Ultimate Works Porsche 962 – The definitive History”, hosted by Porter Press at the Silverstone Museum at 6pm.

This new release is the second part of Serge Vanbockryck’s extraordinary body of research on the Works Porsche 956 and 962 racers that dominated Group C racing for a decade from 1982 onwards. While the first part centred on the 956, this forthcoming three-volume production focuses on the 962 and covers every aspect of the cars including their development, race seasons, drivers and chassis histories.

A project more than 30 years in the making, “Ultimate Works 962” will quite simply be the most thoroughly detailed, definitive history of the 962 yet, and this is an opportunity to attend a panel discussion with legendary drivers such as Derek Bell sharing their thoughts on the car.

Attendance is limited to 50 Club members, with places offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is essential and can be completed using the form below. This opportunity is only available to Club members. Joint members are welcome to attend, but membership cards for both must be presented upon arrival to the event. To secure your place, please follow the link below.

Registration closes at 5pm on Friday, 26 August, or sooner if the limit capacity is reached.
