Phil Graham, our Community Director has decided to step down from the Board at the upcoming AGM. As a result, we are seeking nominations for a Community Director to be elected at the AGM.

Phil has served three years as our Community Director, a position he has been proud to hold. We thank Phil for his dedication to Porsche Club GB and the Board over that time.
In his own words “It is with regret and sadness that I have decided to stand down as Community Director at the forthcoming AGM. This is a decision which has not been made in haste and due to many reasons and circumstances. It will end three years as a director, a position I have been proud to hold and there will be many parts of this role that I will dearly miss.
I have enjoyed working with my fellow directors, the staff at Cornbury House, the Club Officials and most importantly the wider membership where special friendships have been made. My passion with Porsche and Porsche Club GB remains as strong as ever and I hope to enjoy it in a more leisurely way in the future.
I am looking forward to a busy year ahead with family, friends, my North West Region and events in the 991 and 992 Registers. In the meantime, I will continue to do my best for the Board up to the AGM and beyond that as a volunteer and member. No doubt I will meet many of you at future events, familiar faces wherever you go, the Spirit of the Club.”

The Community Director is one of our most significant roles on the Board.
Working closely with Steve Gillings, the role focuses on the wider sense of community, member engagement and retention. It is responsible for coordinating the smooth running of the regions, including the management, appointment and mentoring of our 31 Regional Organisers and their committees.
Our regions are often the front face of our Club for members, the ‘moment of truth’ and where our Club really feels like a Club. The role is varied from hosting celebrations such as our 30-year lunches, to working with regional officials where there is a gap between the membership expectations and their delivery to resolving grievances and complaints within the regions.
You should have extensive knowledge of the Club at a Region, Register or National level. Excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, ability to lead and motivate volunteers and resolve issues are essential for success.
Nominations should be made on the nomination form enclosed in your February PP, available from the Clubhouse or download via Porscheclubgb.com/AGM. Your nomination should be accompanied by your 250 word manifesto for election. Your manifesto should be an indication of facts setting out your reasons for qualification for the Community Director’s position and not a set of proposals for the future.
Nominations and Manifesto must be clearly marked ‘Nominations for Directorship’ and sent to Porsche Club GB, Cornbury House, Cotswold Business Village, Moreton-in-Marsh GL56 0JQ, to arrive no later than 12 noon on Friday, 28 February 2020.
