2019 Porsche Club Motorsport starts here

The Porsche Club motorsport season begins in earnest...

The Porsche Club motorsport season begins in earnest with all three of the Club’s Championships holding their opening rounds in just two week’s time.

20th April – Donington Park - Petro-Canada Lubricants Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli

20-21st April – Loton Park – Petro-Canada Lubricants Porsche Club National Hillclimb Championship

22nd April – Croft Circuit – Petro-Canada Lubricants Porsche Club Speed Championship with Pirelli

The strength and popularity of the Porsche Club Championship was highlighted in the first entries for the new season, with two former double champions (Pete Morris and Mark McAleer) returning along with their sons!

First to commit for 2019 was Morris, class one and overall champion in 2014 and 2015, competing in the race-winning Porsche 997 C2S he used last year, the first season the model has been eligible for the series. Son Ross is entered in class two in a Boxster S, where he has raced before, both being run by the Strasse team from Leeds.

For the new season Mark McAleer is staying in class one but driving a new 997 C2S, the most powerful car in the series but also the heaviest, the various Porsche models balanced by power-to-weight ratio. Stepping into the 996 his father used in 2017 and was winning races with last season is son Jake, the first time the duo will have raced in the same class in the championship.

In the Porsche Club Speed Championship David Dyson enjoyed an almost clean sweep in the 2018 season with nine wins and one second place. With a superb ability to carry speed at any of the Championship’s venues, whether hill or circuit, David proved a tough competitor to beat and returns this season to defend his title.

Dyson has also confirmed his place in the Porsche Club National Hillclimb Championship, a focussed championship for those wishing to compete at the highest level of hillclimbs. Just five points separated 2018 Championship winner Paul Howells from Robert Lancaster-Gaye, with both returning for another season of close-fought competition.

For more than 30 years the Porsche Club has been organising motorsport championships for its members. In this period the Club has successfully built the foundations of Porsche Club racing and provided an opportunity where Club members can progress from driving their road going Porsche on a track, to competing in the Carrera Cup with Porsche Cars GB.

While the Club's highly respected championships are always closely fought and very competitive, they are also intended to be fun. With that in mind, we try to create a friendly and social environment that will reward you at whatever level of competition you get involved with.
