Silverstone showdown

Our championship returns to the home of motor racing.

Our championship returns to the home of motor racing.

The 2018 Club Championship heads to Silverstone this weekend for what promises to be another outstanding race in this tightly contested one marque series.

A commanding-looking Mark Sumpter leads Class 1 one of the officially titled ‘Petro-Canada Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli’, having taken three wins from the first four rounds.

The current field mixes established 996s with heavier but more powerful 997s for the first time, while a number of Caymans are proving a tantalisingly threat thus far to the usually dominant 911s.

Class 2, meanwhile, is firmly in the grip of Jonathan Evans, with all four wins to his name in his Boxster S. Behind him in Class 3, a remarkably close contest is being fought between the Porsche Centres and their older and beautifully liveried Restoracing 986 Boxsters.

Qualifying begins at 09.35 on Saturday morning, with the races following at 13.30 and 17.15. Tickets are available on the gate and include entry to MGLive.
