Porsche Club GB at Silverstone Classic

Silverstone Classic is one of Porsche Club GB’s premiere events and despite the weather’s best efforts to dampen our spirits, this year’s celebrations didn’t disappoint!

Building on the success of previous years, Porsche Club GB hired a large marquee with provided a perfect hub for club members to shelter from the wind and rain on Friday and Sunday while warming up with a complimentary cup of tea or coffee.

Across the weekend the marquee was also home to Simon Bowrey’s 1957 Porsche 356A Carrera GT and Paul Howells’ 1973 911 2.8 RSR. During a full body restoration of his car, Simon discovered that his 356A was in fact the first 356 GT to be imported into the United States.

On the second day of the three-day show we were treated to blue skies, sunshine and a stand filled with hundreds of Porsches and their proud owners!

As well as the PCGB stand, a record-breaking crowd for Silverstone Classic enjoyed a day packed with legendary Formula One machinery, iconic Group C cars, a plethora of touring car heroes and Status Quo providing flat-out entertainment for a record-breaking crowd.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our members and volunteers who made this year's Club stand such a success! We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the new members who joined the club at this year’s show and look forward to seeing them at Club events across the UK.
