Pete Evans

Race#22
Region R29 Surrey

I started my rookie season in 2021 racing in the PCGB Boxster Cup and over the following winter I trained hard, going to rally school and having drift lessons, I now felt comfortable on the edge of grip!

From the start of 2022 on test days my pace really came together with guidance from the PARR Motorsport team who pushed me hard on data to be 100% accurate with quality race craft. I started round 1 with double pole positions and went on to take 10 poles, 10 Podiums and 6 wins in the season which all added up to me becoming the ‘Boxster Cup Champion 2022’. I can hardly believe where this fantastic journey has taken me so far and I know this is just the start.

I didn’t advertise the fact that during the 2022 race season I was nursing a chronic arthritic right hip joint which should have been replaced early season but I found a way to adapt my driving technique and finally in November I was able to have it replaced which has transformed my driving and fitness ready for the 2023 season.

Under team advice I have entered Class 1 this season leapfrogging class 2 and climbing straight into a 911 Porsche 996. I have a lot to learn to master both racing a rear engine Porsche rather than mid-engine while maximising the grip of slicks. After my first test it would seem I’ve taken to both like a duck to water but I know that I have much to learn and I’m ready to up my game using what I’ve learned to date.  I'm looking forward to this amazing challenge in what is a first-class race series and a superb group of people.
