PCGB Simulator Racing Championship Season 6

The final race of the Porsche Club simulator racing season 6 was held on the 26 April at Le Mans and what a finale it proved to be.

The Pro Class final standings were decided on the final lap of the season with championship leader Christian Szaruta recovering from being at the back of the field after the first lap.

Christian said in the post-race interview that "I did not make it easy for myself! I avoided a spinning car in the first chicane, had a slowdown penalty then and lost the back end. It was then just a matter of frantically trying to overtake as many cars as possible."

Christian took the championship by 4 points over James Cullen, with Austin Greatrex taking third spot.
In the Amateur class, Stephen Kershaw took the overall title followed by Fausto Pinto and Ryan Penny. Stephen said “I knew I just needed to finish the race in a reasonable position to take the overall championship, but driving the RSR around Le Mans was so exciting I could not resist going for the race win.

The sim racing series visited 8 tracks over the season including Sebring, Oulton Park, Road Atlanta and Imola. It chose to run the RSR for the first time this year as a tribute to it on its retirement from real world racing. It proved to be a very popular choice with the drivers and viewers of the series, which is broadcast by Racespot TV. Chaz Draycot and Peter MacKay have been this season’s commentators.
Porsche Centre Chester and Mydas Simulation were the seasons sponsors and have provided some fantastic prizes for those on the podium, including a day at the Porsche Experience Centre, a Porsche branded watch, wallet and vouchers for each category.

If you want to get involved in the next season of the championship which is due to start in September, contact details for the organisers are on the website, or join the PCGB Sim Racing channel on Discord.
