Class wins for Howells and Dyson

Report by Peter Turnbull

We were blessed with superb weather for the 10th round of the Hillclimb Championship.

In the road going class   David Dyson was again in fine form, breaking the class record with a superb time of 34.89. Robert Lancaster-Gaye, try as he might, could not find an answer, on what is a power hill and finished second with a time of 36.82.

Third place was closely fought out between an ever-improving Richard York in his GT3 and new to the Championship this year, Richard Snow in his GT4. and although Richard York did a personal best time of 38.98 it wasn’t enough with Richard Snow putting in a great run of 38.38 to finish in 3rd spot.

The modified class was fought out between Paul Howells, Duncan Andrews and Peter Turnbull and although Duncan and Peter did personal best times it was not enough to catch Paul, who is having a season to remember. Paul finishing on 33.27 for first place, Peter taking second on 34.03 just in front of an ever-improving Duncan Andrews taking 3rd on 34.25.

It really was one of those classic hillclimb weekends, enjoyed by all, roll on Prescott in a fortnight’s time on 7th and 8th September.
