Join Porsche Club member Jonathan Jacobs as he discusses his career and experiences with automotive photography.
Jonathan’s first job was Picture Desk Manager with a press agency, which supplied major national newspapers and magazines. Very soon he moved from processing photographs to taking them, and felt the buzz from seeing his pictures looking back at him in national newspapers and glossy magazines.
An unusual opportunity presented itself when Jonathan was given the chance of becoming a Police Photographic Officer. A world away from ‘the mags and the rags’, police photography demands high technical and interpretive skills.
Through stringent cuts to the Police role, Jonathan went freelance in 2010. From then onwards his passion for anything automotive coupled with photography has become "the best job in the world". With over 40 covers to his name Jonathan regularly shoots for several car magazines and leading manufacturers
