Collecting Cars 1989 911 3.2 Speedster first drive

The very first Speedster, the 356, was designed for the US market, built as a cheaper and more sporting alternative to the Coupe and Cabriolet. In 1987, some three decades after the original, Porsche unveiled the 911 3.2 Speedster. Based on the 3.2 Carrera the Speedster benefitted from a number of upgrades from the 930 Turbo. Better brakes, flared arches and of course a low slung trademark look.
