This all-encompassing Lake District route is a very full-on day of driving, or you could break it into smaller sections to include overnight stops in between - a great way to see everything and get a chance to experience some of the fab local hospitality. Visiting all four corners of the Lake District, from popular towns and villages to the more remote and wild valleys, you’ll see the famed scenery, mountains and lakes all day long.
Starting and finishing in beautiful Bowness-on-Windermere on the eastern shore of this iconic lake, you head up to Ambleside and then back down to Broughton-in-Furness via Coniston, through the challenging Hardknott Pass onto Wast Water. Pushing on to Ennerdale, Crummock and Buttermere for a perfect Lakes photo opportunity
